The Bitter Taste of Valentine's Day

"Will you be my valentine?"

The words are uttered in a false sense of love and ambition.
As her lips drip heavy with a glossed over expression,
She smiles curtly and says she already has a valentine.

The words don't stop her from gripping and ripping,
At the handmade package in his hands.
As she stuffs herself with sugared candy,
That was made directly from the heart
Of her romantic victim.

It was meant for true love's kiss.
But he was suckered into giving it up,
For a false sense of gratitude,
That she would still be his friend.

Next year,
He will do it all again.
Just so he can look into vacant eyes,
And get another taste of manipulation.

All Because his lust is greater than his pride.
